No Kiss on Valentine's...oh well (February 21, 2012)

hi this is the presidents email..

President Jergensen
It has been an interesting week with the news from home and with the work going on here in the Bloomington area. Be assured that I'm doing well with the news on my mother's health. I did receive a letter from her and have read the email today explaining what is going on. It is a tough thing to swallow, but there is deffinate power in prayer. We did have a special moment at district meeting for Elder Harmon, and I can almost relate to what he is going through.
This past week Elder Ashworth and I were able to visit a lady in the hospital who is having some kidney problems and give her some comfort and she really appreciated that.
Elder Grow was able to interview Tiffany and has found her worthy of baptism. She is still scheduled to have that ordinance performed on Saturday by Elder Ashworth. He is really excited for that and we are going to be inviting all of our investigators to come and experience the spirit that will be present. Tiffany is very excited for her baptism and we had a very spiritual moment with her at a members home. She shared how her life is already changed for the better and how this will bless her and her son's life forever.
Saturday and Sunday we were very busy with all kinds of teaching appointments. We extended baptismal invitations to several investigators who will be able to make it to the baptism on Saturday.
There is one lady who Elder Ashworth found while on an exchange that is very interested in the church. Her name is Lora and she has a son in the hospital who is not doing to well. We are going to stay in touch with her and see how much we can do as missionaries to help out.
All in all I'm doing very well and so is Elder Ashworth. His teaching skills continues to improve and he is very excited  for the upcoming baptism. He is the senior companion this week and will be calling the shots.

So yea it was a very strange week with all the stuff going on in the homeland. I just want to attest to what Tony said about the power of prayer. There is definantly a difference between saying prayers and actually praying for something. I don't have much time but I do want to say that I read a lot of emails today and they all point back to one thing... Jesus Christ is our Savior and that he is very mindful of what is going on in our lives. Remeber that we are given trials in this life to make us stronger and to bring us closer together as families.

This is a pathetic email i know but I do want to say that all is going to be ok    I love you all and will write some thing this week home.

note:  Victor is back row (stuffed and ready to roast)
